FIG. 01 — FIORENZATO BRICOLETTA, ONE GROUP
Single-group stainless steel espresso machine with an E61 group and a portafilter locked in, standing on a wooden cafe bar beside a window
COLLECTED
A heat-exchanger single group: one boiler doing brew and steam at the same time. The two gauges on the front are the fastest read on whether the pressurestat still holds.
SECTION 01 · WHY US

Four differentiators

01

The grinder is a job, not an afterthought

Most shops treat a grinder as something they glance at while the machine is on the bench. Burrs get measured against the wear spec here, and the grind gets set on your beans before it goes back.

02

Burr life against throughput, not calendar

Fiorenzato publishes a kilogram figure for burr life. We ask what the bar actually pushes through and work the replacement date from that, which is usually sooner than the owner expected on a busy bar and later on a quiet one.

03

Both halves priced separately

A Bricoletta service and a grinder service are two different jobs. You get two figures and you can take one, the other, or both. Nothing is bundled to make a number look better.

04

E61 depth carries over

The Bricoletta group is the same E61 casting we work on across Rocket, Profitec, ECM and Lelit. The parts are on the truck already.

Most people meet Fiorenzato as a grinder company, and most of our Fiorenzato calls are grinders. The Bricoletta is the machine side of the same firm: a single-group heat-exchanger with an E61 group, a 1.25 litre boiler and a thermosiphon loop feeding the group. Machine and grinder are separate jobs at separate prices, and we quote them that way rather than bundling.

SECTION 02 · MODELS WE SERVICE

Fiorenzato line-up

M-01

Bricoletta (1 group)

Single-group heat exchanger, E61 group, 1.25L boiler with a thermosiphon loop to the group, volumetric pump, brew and steam gauges. Stainless frame and body.

M-02

F64 EVO / F64 EVO PRO

64mm flat burrs, stepless adjustment, on-demand dosing. The most common Fiorenzato on an LA bar and the one we service most.

M-03

F83 / F83 E

83mm flat burrs. More burr surface, cooler running under back-to-back dosing, longer interval between burr changes than the 64mm machines.

M-04

Red Speed burr option

Titanium-treated burrs offered across the F range. Fiorenzato rates them for a longer service life than the standard steel set; the grind reference still has to be reset after a change.

M-05

Older F-series (pre-EVO)

Earlier control boards and a different collar mechanism. Still on plenty of LA bars. Burr sets and collars are still obtainable.

SECTION 03 · COMMON PROBLEMS

What goes wrong on a Fiorenzato

  • P-01

Grind drifting rather than failing (F64 / F83)

These grinders rarely die. They wander — shot times creep, the barista dials in a little more each week, and nobody notices the burrs are the cause. Fiorenzato rates a standard burr set for roughly 400-600 kg of coffee. Weigh what the bar goes through and the replacement date stops being a guess.

    $180-$320
  • P-02

    Burrs turning, nothing coming out

At fine espresso settings the chute packs with fines and the grinder sounds like it is working while nothing reaches the portafilter. Stripping and clearing the chute and exit path fixes it; the home remedy of running grain through is a delay, not a repair.

    $150-$230
  • P-03

Grind reference wrong after a burr change

New burr edges cut differently until they have seasoned, so the zero point moves and the first bag through tells you very little. We set a reference dose and time on your beans, then re-check after real volume rather than signing off on the first shot.

    $150-$225
  • P-04

E61 group wear on the Bricoletta

Standard E61 service life. The group gasket flattens under heat cycling, the shower screen blinds over, and the cam and spring stack dries out. Symptom is a group that drips at rest and channels under pressure.

    $150-$260
  • P-05

    Thermosiphon scale on the Bricoletta

The loop between boiler and group is where scale settles first on a heat exchanger. What the barista notices is brew temperature moving across a shift while the boiler gauge sits still. Annual descale prevents it; once it is there the loop has to come apart.

    $240-$380
  • P-06

    Pump pressure off spec

Volumetric pump on the Bricoletta. Read pressure at the group with a portafilter gauge, not off the panel gauge, then set it at the OPV. A gauge reading 9 bar at the pump and 7 at the group is the common finding.

    $180-$280
FIORENZATO · WHAT A SERVICE COSTS
E61 prosumer$429
Grinder service$129 standalone / $89 add-on

The Bricoletta is a single-group E61 heat exchanger and prices with the E61 machines.F64 and F83 grinders are their own job — standalone, or cheaper alongside a machine service.

Two flat figures rather than one, because most Fiorenzato owners need the grinder done and not the machine.

FIG. 02 — FLAT-BURR GRINDER, ON DEMAND
Tall black on-demand espresso grinder with a transparent bean hopper full of beans and a stepless adjustment collar, standing on a wooden counter
Fiorenzato rates a standard burr set at 400-600 kg of coffee. Weigh what this hopper goes through in a week and the replacement date stops being a guess.
FIG. 03 — E61 GROUP AND PORTAFILTER
Close view of a chrome E61 group head with a portafilter locked into it, brew pressure gauge to the left
The E61 casting keeps itself hot by circulating boiler water through its own body. When shots start channelling, the cam and the three internal gaskets come out first.

Most Fiorenzato calls come out of house kitchens and small offices, so the dispatch pattern follows the residential grid: Fiorenzato repair in San Jose and Fiorenzato repair in San Francisco. Same technician, same rates everywhere on the grid — 25 cities across seven counties, same-day when the schedule allows.

SECTION 05 · FAQ

Frequently asked.

Q-01 How much does Fiorenzato service cost?
Two prices because there are two machines. The grinder and the Bricoletta are quoted flat and separately above; take either on its own. Typical Fiorenzato work: burr replacement $180-$320, chute strip and clear $150-$230, E61 group service $150-$260. Typical figures, not quotes. What the repair costs depends on what we find. You get a written estimate before anything is done, and you can decline it — we bring the machine back and nothing further is owed.
Q-02 How often do F64 or F83 burrs actually need replacing?
Fiorenzato rates a standard set at roughly 400-600 kg of coffee, and the Red Speed burrs longer. That is a throughput number, not a calendar one. A bar pulling 200 doubles a day gets there far sooner than a two-machine office. Tell us your weekly bean order and we will give you a date rather than a shrug.
Q-03 My grinder sounds like it is running but no coffee comes out. What is it?
The chute has packed with fines, almost always at a fine espresso setting. Running rice or grain through will clear enough of it to get you through service, and it will be back. The fix is pulling the burr carrier and clearing the chute and exit path properly.
Q-04 Are you a Fiorenzato dealer?
No. We do not sell grinders or machines, Fiorenzato or otherwise. Fiorenzato works through importers and specialist retailers in the States; we are the people you call once the machine is yours and something is wrong with it.
Q-05 Is the Bricoletta worth keeping against a newer dual boiler?
Honest answer: it depends whether the thermosiphon has been looked after. A Bricoletta that has been descaled annually holds temperature well enough for a single-group bar and the E61 parts pipeline is excellent. One that has never been opened has scale in the loop, and that is the job that decides it. Get the loop assessed before you price a replacement.
Q-06 Can you service the grinder without taking the machine?
Yes, and often that is all anyone needs. Grinders are collected on their own and come back set to a reference dose on your beans. The Bricoletta only travels if you want the machine done too.
SECTION 06 · CASE STUDY · HONEST OPINION
Representative job · composite of recent work

Representative job: F64 EVO on a Highland Park bar, shots creeping from 27 seconds to 34 over about two months with no recipe change. Burrs measured past the wear spec — the bar was going through roughly 12 kg a week and had never changed a set in three years, which is well beyond the published interval. New burrs, chute and exit path cleared, grind set to a reference dose on their current beans, re-checked after two days of real volume. Total: 2 hours, $265 parts and labor.

Honest opinion

Grinder burrs are the least glamorous and highest-leverage thing on most bars. We see cafes spend four thousand dollars upgrading a machine when a two-hundred-dollar burr set and a proper reference setting would have made a bigger difference in the cup. If your shots have been slowly getting worse and nobody can say why, weigh your bean throughput before you shop for hardware.
